The Eggmobile

Our super-free-range chickens follow the cattle in our custom-made eggmobile. Each day the cattle are moved to fresh pasture and the chickens follow along behind. The chickens perform a valuable function to the rotational system, scratching through the manure to aid it’s incorporation into the soil, whilst consuming predatory insects and fly larvae. This reduces the need for anthelmintic wormers for the cattle.

We deliberately leave a three day interval between the cattle and chickens to allow the complementary dung beetles to do their work.

The chickens benefit from wonderfully diverse feed and forage, rewarding us with the most fantastic, golden yolked eggs
